INTRODUCING THE NEW CHAMPIRO SX2.

The GT Radial Champiro SX2 extreme summer performance tire is coming to the streets of North America. Developed for driving enthusiasts who want higher levels of traction, response and driving control in dry and wet conditions, the Champiro SX2 is equally at home on the street and the track.

“We’ve been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Champiro SX2 in North America and are thrilled that this product is now available for enthusiast drivers,” said David Shelton, director of marketing for Giti Tire USA, which markets and sells GT Radial tires in North America. “We are confident they will love how their car performs with our tire’s extremely aggressive tread design and high-grip compound.” Shelton added, “The GT Radial Champiro SX2 is a competitive UHP product that is an excellent value to the consumer.”

Three main features contribute to the Champiro SX2’s extreme performance. First, the tire has a dual block design with extra wide shoulder blocks to increase cornering stability and grip on all road surfaces. Second, the advanced tread compound, which includes silica technology, provides excellent adhesion to dry and wet roads. The silica is especially critical for better braking performance on wet surfaces. Third, three wide circumferential grooves provide exceptional wet traction by significantly reducing the risk of aquaplaning. The gradient step design of the tread’s central ribs helps to reduce heat generation, which has a detrimental effect on the life and performance of the tire.

Backed by a five-year limited manufacturer’s warranty, the Champiro SX2 lineup consists of six popular sizes, including 195/50ZR15, 245/40ZR17, 215/45ZR17, 225/45ZR17, 235/45ZR17, and 265/35ZR18, with more sizes currently under development. Popular vehicle fitments include: Honda Civic Si, Honda S2000, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo, Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V, Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ and Subaru Impreza WRX.
