{"id":388,"date":"2014-02-18T16:58:43","date_gmt":"2014-02-18T16:58:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webhedzwordpress.com\/GT\/?p=388"},"modified":"2014-02-18T16:58:43","modified_gmt":"2014-02-18T16:58:43","slug":"the-future-of-uhp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gtradial.ca\/\/\/fr\/2014\/02\/18\/the-future-of-uhp\/","title":{"rendered":"THE FUTURE OF UHP."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Giti Tire USA\u2019s Director of Product Marketing David Shelton recently opened up regarding the evolution of UHP tires. \u201cUHP tires used to be strictly considered as Z-rated,\u201d because they \u201cwere positioned as the top cornering and grip performers, especially for the summer variant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Things, however, have evolved, according to Shelton. He states that, \u201ctoday, the UHP category can easily be divided into two camps, with smaller slivers (or niches) in the UHP Summer group.\u201d He goes on to say that, \u201cthe UHP All-Season has become the greater volume of the two,\u201d mainly because \u201cconsumer expectations are converging on wanting the control and confidence, while demanding ride comfort, low noise, and getting the value out of the tires by expecting three years average life (45,000 miles or more).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On another note, and in response to a question regarding the evolution of tire sizes, Shelton talks about the fact that UHP tire sizes\u2014in terms of diameter and OD\u2014are increasing every year.
